Presentation
Cours Xavier Arnozan is the historic and strategic home of Bordeaux wine merchants. Linking the centre of Bordeaux with the quai des Chartrons, an important commercial port in the 17th century, merchants based themselves here to export to many foreign countries where the wines of Bordeaux were already appreciated. Discover the world of Arnozan through its complete palate of appellations: Bordeauxc dry white, Bordeaux rosé, Bordeaux red, Bordeaux supérieur, Côtes de Bergerac moelleux (sweet), Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Lussac Saint-Emilion... and now the red and white Bordeaux Esprit d'Arnozan.
Location
This region consists of limestone plateaux at around 100m above sea level, hence its name "Bordeaux's high country". Wines of the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation are produced the vineyard zone of the Gironde. The wines must conform to rigorous quality criteria and are made from grapes from selected vineyard parcels and older vines. The red Bordeaux Supérieur is characterised by great aromatic complexity combining ripe fruits, floral aromas, spice and often a hint of oak.
Winemaking
Destemming and crushing of the grapes. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature with selected yeasts and maceration of the skins. This takes 2 to 3 weeks to provide a supple, rounded wine. Ageing in stainless-steel and concrete tanks.
