Presentation
For centuries the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux has been crossed by pilgrims on the Way of Saint James. Here they chanced on medieval fortified towns and 12th century missions such as those of Créon, Monségur, Sauveterre-de-Guyenne or Saint-Vincent de Pertignas, which has taken the name of the patron saint of winegrowers, Saint-Vincent. Discover the entire range of Bordeaux rosé, 100% Sauvignon white, red, moelleux (sweet white) and now, Claret.
Location
Bordeaux is France’s largest wine-growing region producing appellation wines. Situated in the south-west on the Atlantic coast, it is crossed by the Garonne and the Dordogne rivers and enjoys an oceanic and temperate climate. The richness, quality and diversity of these wines are rooted in the distinctive character of the terroirs, the expertise of the winemakers and the art of blending.
Historically, the term ‘Claret’ has been used for centuries by the English to refer to red wines from Bordeaux. Today, it is making a comeback in a modern version: lighter, more accessible and designed for more casual occasions.
Winemaking
The distinctive character of Bordeaux Claret lies in a tailored winemaking process that prioritises balance and freshness. Following a deliberately short maceration, the grapes undergo gentle extraction to limit the release of tannins and control the intensity of the colour. This process results in a supple structure, low tannin levels and lovely tension on the palate. Every stage of the winemaking process is designed to preserve the wine’s natural freshness whilst retaining its rich character and excellent drinkability.

Advice

Taste profile
Rouge fruité gourmand
Tasting
A bright red colour of medium intensity, with sparkling highlights. The nose is expressive and intense, opening with aromas of fresh red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant), accompanied by a lovely aromatic freshness. On the palate, the attack is supple and indulgent. The light, low-tannin structure highlights crisp fruit, underpinned by a subtle sweetness that lends roundness and balance.
Food pairings
The fresh, thirst-quenching finish makes this a wine particularly well-suited to being served slightly chilled, whether as an aperitif or during a convivial meal.
